Anyone who would like to try the Pritikin diet, should also be aware of the following that may have an impact on their decision to try this diet:

  • Pregnant & lactating women – seek advice before trying this diet as it may not provide adequate nutrients required for the growing foetus or baby
  • Suitability of this diet for children is not known and probably not recommended as it may not contain enough fat for their growing needs
