Therapeutic dosage
There is a therapeutic dosage for glutamic acid, which is the most that can be safely taken on a daily basis before it produces serious and toxic side effects:
- Adults: 500-3000mg*
* Some people may experience mania at levels higher than 300mg of glutamic acid per day, so care should be taken to try lower levels of this supplement first to ensure that this side effect is not experienced.
