Isoleucine RDI

The RDI for isoleucine is as follows:

  • Infants: 80mg per kg of body weight
  • Children: 28mg per kg of body weight (about 840mg)
  • Adults: 12mg per kg of body weight

Tolerable upper limit

There is no tolerable upper limit for isoleucine.

There is a recommended daily intake (RDI) of isoleucine, but there is no tolerable upper limit for isoleucine.

There is a supplementary dosage range that is a safe therapeutic dose of isoleucine:

  • Adults: 5,000-10,000mg

The higher levels of isoleucine should only be taken under strict medical supervision because supplementation at very high levels may cause some side effects in some people.
